Safe way to school on September 7th. Workshops and lectures for students about road safety.
This year our traditional autumn health and sports day was on September 4th. Classes 1 to 4 went to Kauksi. Students observed nature while walking and playing in a beautiful pine forest. There was also time to make this summer's last sandcastles on the beach of lake Peipus. Older students from classes 5 to 9 stayed at Mäetaguse and played discus golf on our nearby disc golf field.
The board of Environmental Investment Centre (KIK) decided to fund our school’s project „More environmentally aware Mäetaguse Basic school students“ with 2700 euros.
At the end of August some students of Mäetaguse Põhikool took part in a camp Aqua est Vitale in Lohusuu together with ohter young people from Lohusuu and Raja. The main topic of the camp was water safety, flora and fauna of Lake Peipus (Peipsi) and the culture of the lakeside villages. The students discussed laws regarding fishing and poaching and they also tried out fishing themselves. The weather was nice and children enjoyed the waterside activities the most.
Mäetaguse school house is closed from 1st July until 4th August.
Have a beautiful summer!
The graduation ceremony for year 9 took place on June 11th. Although the emergency situation had been over, there were still some restrictions due to which the number of guests at the ceremony was very limited. Never the less, the ceremony was very beautiful and naturally the most important people, namely the students and their parents could still participate.
