Bring the bear!
On Wednesday the 11th of October our school was filled with Teddy bears of different shapes and sizes. We were having fun with our stuffed friends. Some of the students even managed to organised the bears' wedding.

On the 6th of October our school had celebrated the Teachers' day. Traditionally, on that day our 9th grade students were giving the lessons to others and the teachers were engaged in some fun activities. At the end of the school day the concert took place.
On behalf of the Mäetaguse basic school, we would like to congradulate all of the teachers out there and wish them spark, joy and fun with their not-so-easy, but extremely important work.
Mandolin Madness
3 young men will be playing mandolines for our school on the 3rd of October. They will also sing some folk songs and add other musical instruments to make the old- styled tunes sound modern.
Monday to Thursday 25-28.09 the sports week will take place. We will start every morning with the warm-up directed by differnt classes, will be walking or running around the school during the long breaks, number of outdoor sport events including charity run will take place as well as a first aid workshop.
From 01.10.2023, the cost of a school meal paid by the parent (so-called after school group meal for the primary school students who stay at school after the lessons) will increase by €0.80/meal.
School meals are free for 1st- 4th grade students (except students who are not registered in Alutagus parish).
During the week 18 to 22 of September multiple events related to nature such as quiz, gimlet art project, crossword, watching a cartoon and a hike in Maetaguse area took place.
On the 19th of September our 1 to 5th classes are awaited in the school hall. Our guests, musicians Cätlin Mägi and Lauri Õunapuu, will talk about the traditional music, musical instruments and the folk tales of Ida- Virumaa region.

Traditionally, our school family spends the first Friday of the new school year outside in nature. This year, grades 1.-3. went to Toila, 4.-6. cycled to Pagari, where a small picnic was held and the 7th-9th grade stayed near the school, where they learned to play disc golf.
