English Week 28. January sekretar

This year’s English Week followed the same format as last year’s; therefore, we called it “Learning a language through songs vol 2”. As last year, we started the preparation for the final concert early - during the first school week after the New Year. Each class chose and then practised their songs in the English as well as in their music lessons, not to mention the rehearsals in the auditorium during the subject week.

The subject week itself was from 20 -24 January. During that time, the students searched and found answers to 24 questions about English speaking countries.

On Wednesday there was a costume day – the most active students came to school dressed as some English speaking character from a book, film or real life. Big thanks to the teachers and administration who also took the effort.

On Thursday, we had a visitor and a guest teacher David Herman. He is an American from Narva Kolledž, originally from the US, town called Spokane, a man who is fluent in Chinese and has affiliations with Taiwan. Our students learned about the US high schools and could practise their English.

English week ended with the final concert “A Better World” – a title to carry on hope, love and peace and express it all through songs about beautiful and important things in the world worth keeping. Singing and songs are also some the best things in life worth celebrating. Students as well as the teachers performed their songs and felt joy in learning a language through songs.

A little lovin'
A little givin'
To build a dream for the world we live in
A little patience and understanding
For our tomorrow
A little peace

A LITTLE PEACE Nicole
