Rocket69 22. August sekretar

The Rocket69 educational camp was once again held at Mäetagus Primary School.

For the second year in a row, the Rocket69 science camp was held at Mäetagus Elementary School. On the first days of the summer vacation (June 14-16, 2023), the school was filled with curious and happy students who came to have an experience similar to the " Rocket69" TV- show. Camp days started with a team warm-up, followed by two tasks and a final duel, and ended with analysis and summaries of the day.

The instructor of the camp was the education and youth work specialist of Alutaguse parish. The camp had a nice atmosphere because the students wanted to be at the camp, taking time out of their break to come, learn and explore. It was especially surprising that the students took the tasks seriously and even if the task turned out to be difficult, they still completed what they started. It was a great joy to see the students enjoying the activities, so many opened up from a more positive side. That's why we need out-of-the-box activities at school to really see the inside of the student.

Generally, the Rocket69 camp carries several developmental aspects, covering almost all 21st century skills. In addition to broadening one's horizons and knowledge, the camp also teaches effective cooperation, time planning for tasks with a time limit, and taking the initiative to come up with different ideas and solutions. Solving tasks also helps students develop critical thinking and creativity. For example, engineering tasks require different original approaches, and buildings also need to stand.
