Music week 4.-8. February 2019 14. February sekretar

This year’s music week was busy and fun. During the breaks there was music, in accordance with the days’ themes. It is great that there are many students and teachers who actively participated in the different activities of our Music Week! I hope that everyone found some nice moments together with music.

Meeting Kärolin Kruut [on Monday], an alumna of our school, definitely gave students some ideas on how to make music part of their life style. And of course, our school’s first Air Band got a big round of applause.

The line dance Wednesday brought us Eve Elm, a teacher from kindergarten Tõruke, to teach us some easy country line dances. The day ended with “the Big Bang- Music turned Monkey into a Man” – a fun and at the same time very educating concert by a band called “Äge Brass” .

The Thursday was for young and talented. Thirty students from our school prepared to sing karaoke in front of our school and well-intentioned judges. Great thanks to all! Special surprises were made by the teachers of our school. Teachers Anne Lepamäe and Karina Palloson performed a duet, which was a Russian version of the song “Kuula” (“Listen”) by Ott Lepland. The performance got a cheery support and a big applause from the audience. Our staff also surprised the school with a summer inspired show and a song called “Pärlipüüdja”.

On Friday 45 students and 6 teachers took part in a fun interactive music quiz Kahoot!

The Music Week ended on February 11th with a visit to Jõhvi Concert Hall to take part in workshops named “Let’s make Music”.

Big thanks to the performers, the audience, the helpers and to everyone who participated in the Music Week!

And remember- music has a great power and magic in it, it can make the world a more beautiful and a more pleasant place!

Thank you!
