The 5th grade of Mäetagus Primary School participates in the Kuusakoski environmental campaign "Candle Holders Hunt", within the framework of which young people from all over Estonia are invited to collect as many empty aluminum tea candle cases as possible.

On March 14, Mäetagus Elementary School held an show competition for the 1st-4th grades as part of Mother Language Day. Those present in the hall had the opportunity to listen to the expressive reading of a prose piece and the recitation of poems.

Estonian poet and playwright Virve Osila visited the students to continue the wonderful day. Beautiful poems and exciting stories from the poet's childhood were heard.
It was an enriching mother tongue day!
The 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade of our school participate in the Räpina Gardening School's plant project "Strawberry Friends".
The goal of the project is to grow, care for and observe moonflower strawberry plants, compare their growth and get fruits.

On 09.03.2023, the cross-country skiing of the Alutagus Youth Games took place at the Kohtla-Nõmme ski stadium.
Aile Sarapuu, a student from our school, won 3rd place.

On 17.02.23, the regional round of the elementary school Biology contest took place in the Moodle environment.
Among the 6th-7th grades our school was represented by Hanna Marleen Aamer and Andri Pae.
Hanna Marleen took 5th place, Andri also got a good result.
Among the 8th-9th grades Helena Mirtel Aamer, Karol Raidma, Gleb Dosaev and Sandra Sidorov participated in the contest.
Helena Mirtel took the 3rd place and Karol the 4th place. Both Gleb and Sandra got good results.
Our 3rd grade student Maksim Mironov participated in the county boys' soloist competition held in the Jõhvi Concert Hall. A total of 17 boys and young men aged 5-18 from our county participated.
All singers were judged by a jury.
Maksim sang very well and made it to the next round, which will take place on the 1st-2nd. in April 2023 at ERM in Tartu.

The 2nd grade students of Mäetagus Primary School and Sillamäe Vanalinna School celebrated Valentine's Day together. Together they performed beautiful poems, songs and dances for each other, prepared delicious food and recorded their memories on paper. What could be more heart-warming than receiving a beautiful card with beautiful wishes from your friend from a friendship class? The meeting was organised by our charming teacher Gerli together with SIllamäe Vanalinna School teachers Olga and Pärle, who helped to make the Valentine's Day meeting even more fun.
